New Job

My apologies for having not written in quite some time. I've been very busy, what with fixing up the condo, working, planning the wedding, and preparing for my new job. Yep I will be starting a new job this fall. My last day at PB is July 31, 2009. I am pretty much petrified, but I have been awarded a lecturer position at the University of New Hampshire. This fall I will be teaching transportation engineering and BIM (building information modeling). In the spring I will manage senior projects and teach Strengths of Materials. I have always wanted to teach and I am really hoping that I am good at it and that I enjoy it. In the meantime, I am busy busy busy trying to learn the material and figure out how the hell to teach it! LOL.

Lucky Update

Just letting you all know that Lucky is settling in nicely! He likes his new bed upstairs with us, and gets so excited in the morning when he hears us move that he jumps up and tries to give us kisses while we are still half asleep. We had our first trip to Vermont this past weekend - Lucky was fairly anxious on the ride up, as with his history I am sure he was afraid we were taking him to be dropped off somewhere. Once we were there a while he did fine and was so excited when we pulled into our driveway coming home that he made tons of cute little noises - he knows where his home is!
He is a great fit for us! He is a very calm laid back dog, who just likes lots of loving. He has been playing more with us but still would rather be petted than play with his tug toy. He loves sitting in the living room looking out our slider. When we get home from work, he sits right up when he sees our cars, and then runs back and forth as we are walking up to the house. He gets so happy to see us! He loves his walks and of course his treats. We are so "lucky" to have him!

New Member of the Family

I'd like you all to welcome a new member of our family, Lucky!

Lucky is a two year old retreiver mix who came to us from our friends Jana and Ray, who helped rescue him from a very troubled past. Lucky has been in about 5 homes and 2 shelters in his very short life, but now he has found a permanent and loving home. Though we are sure it will take him some time to adjust to his new family and new surroundings, we are confident that he will grow to love it! Lucky is very gentle and friendly, and he loves it when you pet or scratch his belly. Lucky we are so glad you have joined the family!

PS - to all of you who read this article thinking bambino, shame on you.

Wedding Update

I am just updating everyone on the status of the wedding planning, which is that there is nothing new to update. lol. I have scowered the internet, Greg and I went to look at a place in Candia, but that is about it.

We liked the place: http://www.candiawoods.com/sites/courses/newpage.asp?id=410&page=11275
but as the stock market continues to dive and people continue to lose their jobs, it is so scary to put a deposit down on something so expensive (and this place is the cheapest we have been able to find anywhere). So we don't know what to do. We both want a nice wedding and reception (not over the top, just nice), that isn't just a BBQ at a friends house, but at the same time I think it is extremely vital to be financially responsible in the next couple of years, given our nations current economic crisis. So what is more important, a fun day or financial stability? Obviously financial stability...but not having our family and friends be able to get together to celebrate with us is depressing. :( I don't know what to do and it is totally stressing me out.

my dream

My dream is to be able to play the piano. Like really well. Like recording artist type good. Like able to read music and play by ear and compose beautiful music. Like Stephan Moccio kind of good...like Anthony Burger and Jim Brickman kind of good. Picture me, in the picture above, seated at the baby grand in a beautiful black dress...looking gorgeous (which is of course another dream) and playing beautiful music for hundreds of people (which of course would mean I wouldn't have to go to Manchvegas to work every day). Too bad dreams can only be dreams...

What is yours?

Boycott

My apologies for being out of touch on this blog. Well, not really. You see, I totally in every way have decided to boycott January. That's right, I boycott January, out of shear contempt for mother nature. January is bitterly cold, dreary, short days, large heating bills, snowy commutes, etc. It is by far the worst month of the year. Therefore, I boycott January, as seen by no posts by me in January. But alas, it is now February, which is nearly as bad as January, however its 3 days shorter and the days are getting longer. So I will try to post some this month. :P
